Experts Predict The Teams Where NFL Free Agents Would Go To

Published on 01/05/2021

This year, the NFL’s free agency is going to be fascinating. Several quarterbacks are hitting the market, so we can’t know for sure what’s going to happen. The NFL is going to have a massive effect on all these free agents and their choices. All the same, we can’t help but wonder… What’s going to take place? Let’s look at some of the predictions, shall we?

Derrick Henry

It may take a few games for him to get going, but the thunderous back of Alabama is a complete beast. The entire offensive scheme of Tennessee depends on the ball being hammered by Henry. For them, there’s no way just to let him go. Kansas City and Detroit look like possible fits, but Henry is likely to be paid handsomely by the Titans to ensure he stays for the next few seasons. (Prediction: Tennessee Titans)

Derrick Henry

Derrick Henry

Dante Fowler

During this current season, Fowler was LA’s best pass rusher (and that includes Aaron Donald). However, with its other members, a lot of the money from the Rams is tied up. In addition, LA faces the challenge of having DT Michael Brockers join the team, to begin with. Arizona’s division rival has a lot of money to work with Chandler Jones and is set to add a complementary edge rusher. (Prediction: Arizona Cardinals)

Dante Fowler

Dante Fowler

Chris Jones

When he plays inside, Chris Jones, one of the most versatile defensive players in the NFL, commands double teams on almost every play. As a defensive end, he duly flashes elite velocity when getting after opposing quarterbacks. Because of his age (25) and position, he will command a fairly hefty contract. Kansas City is determined not to let him leave as a free agent. (Prediction: Kansas City Chiefs)

Chris Jones

Chris Jones

Marcus Peters

Known for being a talented but volatile player, Marcus Peters was shipped to the Baltimore Ravens for a fifth-round pick by the Rams when they had enough of his antics. Ever since becoming a member of the Ravens, Peters has returned to Pro Bowl form. In just six games with his new team as of week 14, he had nabbed three interceptions. Provided that Baltimore keeps getting the best version of Marcus Peters. He probably won’t go anywhere. (Prediction: Baltimore Ravens)

Marcus Peters

Marcus Peters

Michael Brockers

Brockers has shown that he is an excellent NFL player ever since he was drafted out of LSU. While he may not be the kind to pop off the screen as a starting defensive tackle, he is quite dependable. The Rams have a lot of money linked to a few players (Aaron Donald, Todd Gurley, Jared Goff, Brandin Cooks). It is unlikely that when the Rams attempt to re-sign both Cooper Kupp and Jalen Ramsey, the Brockers will return. (Prediction: Denver Broncos)

Michael Brockers

Michael Brockers

Shaq Thompson

Heading towards the offseason, Oakland is expected to have only two linebackers under contract. Thompson has become a nice player for Carolina. He was a safety in college and had the athleticism and versatility to cover smaller players in the backfield. He’s great at supporting runners, apart from that. Thompson will represent the Bay Area (Sacramento), where he is from, for a year before the team heads to Las Vegas. (Prediction: Oakland Raiders)

Shaq Thompson

Shaq Thompson

Byron Jones

This one is a little bit of a no-brainer. Rumblings indicate that Dallas is not offering Jones an extension (because of the potential Dak Prescott contract). Last offseason, Houston lost Kareem Jackson to Denver. Current starters Bradley Roby and Johnathan Joseph will both go into free agency after this current season. Therefore, Houston will do everything possible to sign the player who is perceived as the best defensive back by many in the free-agent group. (Prediction: Houston Texans)

Byron Jones

Byron Jones

Melvin Gordon

Melvin Gordon did not look great this year after he held out for a contract extension that never came. While that’s not to say he can’t get back to the level of the Pro Bowl, with Austin Ekeler, the cheaper option, the Chargers seem content. Gordon can do well to catch passes out of the backfield, and it seems that Kansas City is a perfect fit for this potential marriage, with the Chiefs needing a lead running back. (Prediction: Kansas City Chiefs)

Melvin Gordon

Melvin Gordon

Vonn Bell

This is the best year so far of Bell’s young career. On the back end, he was a ball hawk and was outstanding at running support. Finally, for Bell, a former first-round pick, it appears as though the light is turning on. His contract is one to watch because Bell’s upside allows him to make a handful going forward, even though he hasn’t made a Pro Bowl yet. However, New Orleans might see him as too overpriced for them. (Prediction: Arizona Cardinals)

Vonn Bell

Vonn Bell

Bud Dupree

As of Week 14, Dupree has notched 8.5 sacks, a career-high for the former first-round pick. He is a key member of Pittsburgh’s suddenly emerging defense. In their 20s, the Steelers created an excellent core of guys, with Devin Bush, T.J. Watt, and Minkah Fitzpatrick. Pittsburgh will likely re-sign Dupree to a lucrative deal to keep the group together. (Prediction: Pittsburgh Steelers)

Bud Dupree

Bud Dupree

Drew Brees

We really can’t see Brees at all joining any other franchise. He has lost a little bit of his fastball, but Brees keeps playing at a relatively high level. What’s more, he is a beloved member of the franchise and the community. He will probably re-up on a short deal, hoping that New Orleans can take home a Super Bowl trophy within the next couple of years. (Prediction: New Orleans Saints)

Drew Brees

Drew Brees

Yannick Ngakoue

Jacksonville has to unload some of what it paid Nick Foles first, or Ngakoue will be out of their price range. The stud defensive end is one of this class’s crown jewels. The Jags want him back, but he also wants to be picked up by the Colts. They have a humongous need at the defensive end and plenty of cap space. (Prediction: Indianapolis Colts)

Yannick Ngakoue

Yannick Ngakoue

Brandon Scherff

By the time this two-time Pro Bowler hits the market, he will only be 28 years old. It could benefit Washington from re-signing it, but the franchise was not known for making good choices. It is easy to see that this may be a battle between the New York Jets and Tennessee. The latter has found it difficult to protect its quarterbacks particularly and is dead-last in terms of surrendered sacks. (Prediction: Tennessee Titans)

Brandon Scherff

Brandon Scherff

Jadeveon Clowney

Seattle traded for Clowney, and he proved to be the best pass rusher off the edge for the team. There are even moments when he dominates the field. Seattle would certainly not let Clowney walk away, giving up the considerable capital draft for him this season. To shell out, Seattle will need a pricey contract, but it’s going to be worth it. (Prediction: Seattle Seahawks)

Jadeveon Clowney

Jadeveon Clowney

A.J. Green

It’s time A.J. Green plays for a contender. He was practically an afterthought, and in Cincinnati, he dwindled. Given how old he is (31), his injury history, and his drive to play for a rival, Green seems like an ideal fit for New England. Those legs still have some juice in them, and the Patriots seem to have something to rejuvenate players well past their prime. (Prediction: New England Patriots)

A.J. Green

A.J. Green

Amari Cooper

A series of nicks and wounds have constantly hindered T.Y. Hilton, and he is certainly not the same player he used to be. Jacoby Brissett would love to have a legitimate No. 1 recipient, and Cooper’s skill set would be exceptional on turf. Indy’s offense would immediately benefit from the balance Cooper is going to bring. (Prediction: Indianapolis Colts)

Amari Cooper

Amari Cooper

Anthony Castonzo

Miami needs talent everywhere, particularly a key player who can bring toughness to the locker room’s field and culture. Offensive tackle Anthony Castonzo, an athletic and proven player, will be a great fit for the offensive line. Even though the Colts want to re-sign him, there might be a cap space issue. (Prediction: Miami Dolphins)

Anthony Castonzo

Anthony Castonzo

Jameis Winston

It is possible to expect the team that drafted him No. 1 overall a few years ago to re-up with Winston. Winston, the famous offensive guru, can throw two elite receivers and collaborate with Bruce Arians. Assuming Tampa Bay gives Winston a good ground game, good numbers can be expected. (Prediction: Tampa Bay Buccaneers)

Jameis Winston

Jameis Winston

Hunter Henry

This one is very interesting. Since entering the NFL, Henry has suffered from a string of injuries, despite being talented. His future earnings could be affected adversely by his lack of health. New England is still looking for their Rob Gronkowski replacement, and they’re definitely going to be involved in something that’s going to get them a discount from a Henry caliber player. In Josh McDaniels’s offense, Henry would be totally lethal. (Prediction: New England Patriots)

Hunter Henry

Hunter Henry

Austin Hooper

There is no doubt when it comes to Austin Hooper that a bidding war is going to happen. The Bears, Packers, Jets, Titans, Panthers, Bills, and Patriots are all in need of a big tight end. Hooper has become one of the very best in the league due to his sticky hands and blocking ability. In Atlanta, he will probably re-sign, but don’t be surprised if he goes somewhere else. (Prediction: Atlanta Falcons)

Austin Hooper

Austin Hooper

Jarran Reed

After Reed made less than $2 million in the past year, he is in line for a huge boost to his salary. As a defensive tackle, he had 10.5 sacks in 2018, and although he had fewer than stellar sack numbers in 2019, he is still a great player against the run. Seattle is planning to rebuild its defense to make it an elite unit, so it can not afford to let Reed walk. (Prediction: Seattle Seahawks)

Jarran Reed

Jarran Reed

Philip Rivers

Rivers has a career full of personal accomplishments and is the best quarterback in a Super Bowl who has never played. However, it is also clear that he is not the player he once was. In addition to causing turnovers at an alarmingly high rate, Rivers just does not have sufficient zip to push the ball downfield properly. In addition, he and his family are deeply rooted in San Diego, so the 38-year-old will likely choose to hang his cleats and retire to his beautiful Southern California home. (Prediction: Retires)

Philip Rivers

Philip Rivers

Teddy Bridgewater

Los Angeles will have an open spot, assuming Philip Rivers chooses to retire. Although Teddy Two Gloves isn’t the most flashy of players, a legitimate option in the center. He can effectively move the ball and seldom causes turnovers. In the meantime, Bridgewater would be a good stop-gap if LA chooses to draft a quarterback (such as Justin Herbert or Tua Tagovailoa). (Prediction: Los Angeles Chargers)

Teddy Bridgewater

Teddy Bridgewater

Shaquil Barrett

A massive payday is coming Barrett’s way. As of December 5th, he is the NFL leader in sacks (14.5). Pass-rushing features have become a major bonus in the game today, so the 27-year-old will not have a shortage of suitors. It should come as no surprise if the Atlanta Falcons rival is trying to woo Barrett. Atlanta desperately needs pass-rushing brilliance, and all-season the Barrett show has been in front of them. (Prediction: Atlanta Falcons)

Shaquil Barrett

Shaquil Barrett

Marcus Mariota

Tennessee will soon be bidding Mariota goodbye. As a starting quarterback heading into the free agency era, it does not seem like the former Oregon star is first-choice material. Pete Carroll, interested in former players of the Pac-12, will gladly scoop up Mariota to make him arguably the best football backup signal-caller. To Mariota, the west coast does not seem too far away (just a short plane ride away from his native Hawaii). (Prediction: Seattle Seahawks)

Marcus Mariota

Marcus Mariota

Trae Waynes

The Panthers’ division consists of Calvin Ridley, Julio Jones, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Michael Thomas, among others (among others). For this reason, there are never too many quality corners for the team. At a nice discount based on the market and other players at his position, former first-round pick Trae Waynes could be headed to Carolina. (Prediction: Carolina Panthers)

Trae Waynes

Trae Waynes

Joe Schobert

Mike Mayock is a big fan of hard-nosed, tough players, and his draft track record shows that he is targeting competitive players from larger schools. As a former Wisconsin product, Schobert fits the bill rather well, as he is a surefire tackler who is seldom caught out of position. He will help set the tone for protection in dire need of consistency. (Prediction: Oakland Raiders)

Joe Schobert

Joe Schobert

Chris Harris, Jr.

For the Patriots, Harris Jr. may be of considerable value. He has a championship pedigree, a lot of experience, and is super competitive. In his career, Harris Jr. can be signed at a discount, which is perfect for Bill Belichick. (Prediction: New England Patriots)

Chris Harris Jr.

Chris Harris, Jr.

Dak Prescott

Dallas will certainly not let Dak, the same individual who brought together what used to be a broken locker room, walk. He is excellent and improves on the community’s field, not to mention that he has the full respect of everyone within the organization. It would be possible to negotiate the amount of guaranteed money, but Prescott is probably not going anywhere. (Prediction: Dallas Cowboys)

Dak Prescott

Dak Prescott

Tom Brady

The offseason shocker, the rumored split between Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, will eventually occur. We all know that Brady’s not going to join a team that’s not ready to go all the way to the Super Bowl and that he’s going to go to the West Coast. After all, he is originally from there (San Francisco), and he lives there during the offseason (Los Angeles). He’s a Bay Area native, so it makes sense for him to join the 49ers, particularly if SF doesn’t reach the Super Bowl this season. If Brady shows interest, John Lynch will not hesitate to pursue the star player, buoyed by a big-time defense and a strong running game. It is almost a perfect fit for Tom Brady. (Prediction: San Francisco 49ers)

Tom Brady

Tom Brady

Josh Norman

The Washington Redskins released Josh Norman ahead of the free agency; their $75 million contracts saved them $12.5 million in turn but left teams knowing well in advance that they could have their choice. They’re sure he’s going to be at the top of their list with the Buffalo Bills, and we think he’s going to get the deal.

Josh Norman

Josh Norman

Le’Veon Bell

A split between Bell and the Pittsburgh steelers is certainly on the rise, as Bell has some wear-and-tear that is feared by the Steelers. However, some other team is not afraid to take this expensive player on, and our money is on Detroit if they want to make the playoffs and ultimately get the big win. Bell is the best bet of theirs.

Le'Veon Bell

Le’Veon Bell

Aaron Donald

Instead of signing key players or starters for depth, the Rams have shown they are willing to spend on Donald and do what it takes. In the future, the team wants to spend more cash to retain players such as Todd Gurley and Jared Goff. Still, Donald is just as valuable, and we anticipate that if not the most valuable, spending on him will be more favorable than the others.

Aaron Donald

Aaron Donald

Tyrann Mathieu

We all understand that Mathieu values his team as a whole and his potential as a whole. He wants to play on stacked defenses and with a loyal union after surprising us all with his pick of the Houston Texans. We do believe that the opportunity for him to move is open, possibly to the Bills, but if a prove-on doesn’t work, it’s the cards in New England for him, too.

Tyrann Mathieu

Tyrann Mathieu

Odell Beckham Jr.

Beckham is a strong player, a valuable player under Pat Shurmur, and works extremely well. He’ll spark interest in several teams, but if he wants to win a title after his injury, he needs to stay with the Giants, and they’ll be lucky to have him. For this player, his home is where it is and should be.

Odell Beckham Jr

Odell Beckham Jr.

Khalil Mack

Mack is looking for a well-deserved new contract and is certain of his team’s alpha at the moment, with a new coach coming in, stuff that will change. We think Mack might be leaving Oaklahoma for the New York Jets. The Jets are probably going to have a ton of cap space and may be willing to make him the face of the franchise. The Raiders are best prepared to fight it out or bid it out, should we say.

Khalil Mack

Khalil Mack

DeMarcus Lawrence

DeMarcus Lawrence has been thriving as an edge rusher. His pay-day is up and coming that’s known. The best choice is Oakland, and it fits because some rooms may be open. After all, if this is a good chance and the Raiders can go far with him, we expect the players to leave

DeMarcus Lawrence

DeMarcus Lawrence

Randall Cobb

Cobb has been a bit inconsistent with the Packers, and things are expected to shake up if they don’t make the Super Bowl. If Cobb ends up being part of the changes, we foresee Tennessee being the first in line to sign him. To make money for this move, Tennessee has space for a wide receiver, making logistical sense.

Randall Cobb

Randall Cobb

Taylor Lewan

Offensive linemen rake in hefty paychecks in the free agency area, and we suspect Lewan is next in line. With an array of options for linesmen, the Titans will most likely let him walk-free, but the Bills need a tackle and have the money to sign Lewan. We, therefore, believe that unless his arm improves, Lewan is headed to Buffalo.

Taylor Lewan

Taylor Lewan

Zack Martin

The Cowboys know that Ezekiel Elliot will lead them because his team is very well aware of his worth and other teams, and thus, keeping Martin around is worth the money for them. All-pro guard Zack Martin is trying to keep the dollar in cash. Dallas needs his impact, so we’re predicting they’re going to keep him up.

Zack Martin

Zack Martin

Earl Thomas

It was reported that the Cowboys had made an offer to trade for Thomas, but terms could not be met, and it looks like he is leaving Seattle soon. Dallas is our best bet, but we assume it’s going to be an incentive deal of some kind. This purchase is on the cards, with all-pro security that Dallas specifically likes.

Earl Thomas

Earl Thomas

Brian Orakpo

This deadly pass-rusher is 32 years old and has demonstrated that the Titans have remained healthy over the past three seasons. His choices are open, but signing him with the Cowboys is the most likely choice as an original from All-American Houston.

Brian Orakpo

Brian Orakpo

Danielle Hunter

The Vikings are willing to spend big on retaining the players they need, and since Hunter is young, they’re sure to resign him, on top of his game, and an asset we’re predicting. Minnesota recognizes that this is the move they ought to take, and we see it happening.

Danielle Hunter

Danielle Hunter

Tyrod Taylor

We’re talking about the upcoming top quarterback free-agent market. He has shown capacity and productivity for Buffalo over the past three seasons, and we believe he is heading for Cleaveland. It’s the best decision to sign him to play and work well for the Jaguars, as we would replace Blake Bortles, it’s a smart decision.

Tyrod Taylor

Tyrod Taylor

Ezekiel Ansah

This player has been considered a little inconsistent, but it will certainly be in demand once back on the market. It is believed that the Lions will most likely move to Arizona. This makes complete sense because they need an edge rusher that will change the game that Ansah can do for them. However, it is predicted that it won’t be a long-term deal.

Ezekiel Ansah

Ezekiel Ansah

Anthony Harris

Another safety that many people don’t know is that of Anthony Harris. He might be getting a very nice deal after his impressive 2019 season. He has six picks playing for the Minnesota Vikings DB, and when asked to do so, he did a good job in the middle.

Anthony Harris

Anthony Harris

Cory Littleton

For the Los Angeles Rams ILB, Cory Littleton played, coming off his best season yet. Being only 26 years old, his best football is still to come. For the time being, he’s an active and athletic linebacker who has a bright future.

Cory Littleton

Cory Littleton

Justin Simmons

Although many fans may not recognize his name, Justin Simmons has most certainly caught the NFL staff’s eye. He is young, he is sporty, and he is a ball hawk. There is a great deal of value in that. The last time he played was for the Denver Broncos FS.

Justin Simmons

Justin Simmons

Arik Armstead

Most certainly, Arik Armstead had his best season in 2019, arriving at the right time. It would probably not be possible for the 49ers to keep him for much longer. He would certainly get a mega-deal somewhere from some team soon. No matter where he goes, we know that he’s going to do good.

Arik Armstead

Arik Armstead

Ryan Tannehill

He brought his career back to life last season with the Tennessee Titans, coming off the bench and leading them to the playoffs. He’s most likely going to get some sort of tag, but what’s his real value now?

Ryan Tannehill

Ryan Tannehill
