Dhruv Gaur, a contestant on the game, used his final response to communicate his emotions regarding Trebek. Instead of a “proper” response, Gaur cleverly replied, “We [love] you, Alex!”

Trebek also discussed his departure from Jeopardy! He hinted at this in October 2019 when he addressed his slurred speech. However, Trebek stated in March 2020 that the time had come to call it a day. And, while he didn’t know when it would be, he knew exactly how he wanted to leave.
