Calming his friend
Despite the panic stirring inside him, Brendan tried to remain calm, trying to reassure his companion. “John, calm down. The boat is not taking on water, so we are not sinking. This seems to be intentional.” But those words were not enough to calm John, who stared at the boat slowly submerging. “If this is intentional, then who the hell is doing it?” he asked, his voice trembling, as a shadow of dread began to creep into their minds.

Within moments, both men fell into a state of increasing panic, even Brendan, who had tried to keep calm as long as possible. With their hearts in their throats, they beat desperately against the metal hatch above them, trying to lift it, but the door would not move. Frustration increased with each failed attempt. To no avail. Seconds later, the boat was completely submerged, leaving Brendan and John trapped in the deep darkness of the ocean, with no way out.
