The public response to the girls’ request has been very positive. “The response has been incredible – I love that they can use their platform to help other people too,” said Kevin. “We’ve partnered with DKMS, and it’s a really important thing to do a collection and find out if you’re a donor and get on the register. “It’s an easy process to be a bone marrow donor, and I think a lot of people have this misconception that it’s difficult and painful, but it’s really not. Have you had your bone marrow collected?”

Dealing with the shock
The patriarch’s diagnosis came as a shock to the family. It’s always a complicated situation that can greatly affect a person’s life, even more so a child, even more so siblings. The family never thought their daughters would be anything other than models, but Kevin fell ill in October. Father of three and swimming coach at JSerra Catholic High School in San Juan Capistrano, California, Kevin began to feel “a little cold”, he recalls. It never occurred to him that it might be something serious. It was a surprise to him too.
