As the days passed, his symptoms worsened over the next few weeks and, on October 30, doctors gave him the frightening diagnosis: a rare and aggressive cancer called T-cell leukemia/acute lymphoblastic lymphoma. “That’s when,” says Clements, 39, “everything changed.” While Kevin is currently undergoing this second of twelve rounds of chemotherapy, he and his family are on a desperate – and hopeful – search for a life-saving bone marrow transplant. Little could they have imagined that salvation was closer than expected.

“But sometimes I feel the energy and I get excited, and being home and resting and being around these guys is amazing. “It always brings a smile to my face and gives me the energy to keep moving, keep pushing and look for the light at the end of the tunnel.” And the girls haven’t stopped there – they now also sell nail polish to raise funds for their cousin Shane, who was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) at the age of 10 months. “They have a cousin who was born with this unfortunate disease,” said Kevin.
