Phyllis McGuire

Phyllis McGuire, the McGuire Sisters’ final surviving member, died from natural causes on December 29. She was 89 years old at the time. The McGuire Sisters, which included her sisters Dorothy and Christine McGuire, ruled the 1950s until 1968, when they were forced to disband due to Phyllis’ contentious relationship with mobster Sam Giancana. Sugartime, an HBO film about the love affair, featured her.

Adolfo ‘Shabba-Doo’ Quiñones

Adolfo “Shabba-Doo” Quinones, a dance sensation and star of the cult film Breakin’, passed away at the age of 65 of unknown causes. He choreographed and made an appearance in the music video for’s “All Night Long” prior to moving into film. He is perhaps best known for portraying Ozone in the underground movie Breakin’, a role he reprised in the sequel. Lambada, Tango & Cash, and Xanadu are among his other feature film appearances.
