The fact that not every celebrity arrest results in a criminal record should not be underestimated. In the case of Jane Fonda, there’s no better celebrity example than her own arrest.
The actress was an outspoken opponent of the Vietnam War and environmental issues during the 1970s. She was arrested for allegedly transporting illegal substances in Cleveland, Ohio in 1970. Fonda’s mugshot has become iconic, despite the fact that the charges were later dropped when the illegal substances were discovered to be vitamins.
