Ann Wilson
Aside from founding Heart, Ann Wilson was also the lead singer of the group. Nancy, her younger sister, worked with her to produce 16 albums that sold more than 35 million copies. These records established her as a legend in the world of rock and metal music. It is not surprising to hear that she is now a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer. We will let her own words speak for her: “Artists make art. Singers sing. Players play. Gypsies travel. Music lights fires everywhere. It’s like oxygen!” Beautiful.
Freda Payne
Can you believe that Freda Payne was not signed to Motown? This amazing singer is best known for her hit singles like “The Unhooked Generation” and “Band of Gold.” It feels like singing is in her blood since Scherrie, her younger sister, went on to join The Supremes. Anyway, Freda Payne has also dabbled in acting! You might have seen her in movies like Ella: First Lady of Song and Nutty Professor II: The Klumps in the past. And yes, she continues to perform even to this day.
