Enduring the torment
The youngster continues to suffer as the days pass, uncertain of how much longer he can endure. Neighbor calls father
The neighbor, determined to change things, chooses to speak with the boy’s father immediately. By locating the father’s work number and phoning him when she is certain he will answer, she deftly avoids the stepmother. She describes the odd conduct and the glimpses of the youngster she has seen in order to justify her worries. The father listens, but his judgment is clouded by his mistrust and faith in his wife.
