The stepmother’s actual identity is exposed shortly after the father departs on a business trip. Her behavior alters significantly once the father leaves. She loses all of the original warmth and becomes aloof and frigid. This abrupt change confuses the kid, who begins to feel nervous. Her kind exterior is swiftly replaced with a severe and uncaring one.

She gives him several tasks to do and chastises him severely for even the tiniest errors. She never finds the boy’s efforts to adhere to these new regulations sufficient, despite his best efforts.
