Kareem Abdul-Jabbar: U.S. Global Cultural Ambassador

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was one of the best players the NBA ever saw. After retiring from the league, he went on to become an actor, basketball coach and best-selling author, among other ventures. Kareem was chosen to be a U.S. Global Cultural Ambassador by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Back in 2016, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by then-President, Barack Obama.

Herb Williams: WNBA Coach

From 1981 until 1999, Herb Williams was an active NBA player. After retirement though, he didn’t step away from the world of basketball. The New York Liberty of the WNBA (Women’s National Basketball Association) are happy to call Herb their assistant coach. He was first signed on in 2015 and is still with the franchise today.
