Keeping My Cool
I listened to Sarah and Emily talk endlessly about their aspirations, which were spurred by my alleged lottery victory. I maintained my composure, allowing them to feel secure in their presumptions. Their responses were parts of the puzzle I required, and all of this was part of my strategy. It was important to be genuine and give them the impression that everything was going as planned. They had no idea that I was creating a different result.

Charity Visit
I went to my favorite charitable organization because I wanted to take a step toward something worthwhile. I said to the director, “I’d love to help out and see what you do firsthand.” It aroused something within of me and felt cozy and welcoming. I thought volunteering there would be the ideal way to pass the time. Giving money was only one aspect of this; another was becoming a part of something greater.
