Confiding In Tom
Tom, my amiable neighbor who frequently assisted with home maintenance, and I spoke the next day. I expressed my concerns about Sarah and Emily while we fixed the shed. “It’s difficult, Tom,” I said. As I described my predicament, he listened calmly and nodded. ‘They need a wake-up call,’ he said confidently. Knowing that I’m not doing this alone made me feel a little lighter after our talk, and Tom was always terrific with suggestions.

Brainstorming With Tom
In the backyard, Tom and I brainstormed ways to challenge Sarah and Emily’s allegiance. Tom said, rubbing his head, “We could set up a scenario and see how they would respond.” I considered sharing my intentions, but I wanted something more lighthearted. We came up with a variety of situations, avoiding anything too severe. At last, Tom’s expression brightened. “I have it!” He smiled and shouted. Eager to learn more, I leaned closer.
