Without wasting any time, Sarah quickly went through the goods in the car. “Here you go, Jake!” She yelled and threw the necessary instrument in his direction. As it glided through the air and landed precisely next to him, we all held our breath. “Nice throw!” A moment of comradery broke through the tension as someone cheered. Already focused on the work at hand, Jake nodded his gratitude and grabbed the tool. Together, we all saw this amazing attempt to assist.

The lioness did something amazing as Jake was working: she softly poked his arm with her nose. “Did you notice that?” I was astounded by this magnificent creature’s display of appreciation and trust. Jake stopped and gave her a kind grin. He murmured, only for her ears, “We’re going to help you, girl.” It was a silent victory between man and beast that was sensed by all in the vehicle. We would always remember that particular time.
