The County Sheriff was well aware that time was of the essence, which is why he quickly alerted other authorities for their assistance and help spread the word about little Kaydon. Usually, one would need to wait 24 hours before being allowed to file an official missing person report, however, because this was a strong community that always stuck together, the rules were bent a bit.
