Despite the fact that a helicopter was deployed to help look for sweet Kaydon, a ground operation had also been launched to aid the whole operation. The entire search and rescue team consisted of nearly 100 first responders who covered approximately 2000 acres of mountain terrain within a certain area. The big question remained, were they going to be able to locate the young boy before it was too late?

Marian O’Briant, the spokeswoman of the Blount County Sheriff’s Office, reported to WVLT News that both the ground search teams, togetehr with military assistance, would thoroughly explore the area throughout the night so they could locate Kaydon’s whereabouts. This was not only a massive task but there was absolutely no time to lose. Many searches were simultaneously being conducted, so there was no way they couldn’t find him.
