Secret Spy Stash
It’s not an everyday occurrence when you find out a secret agent had been living in your house. It’s even rarer that you find out that the secret agent was an old “unassuming” elderly lady. One family found all this out when they were renovating their home. They came across a stash of spy-related items that you’d expect from a movie or a video game.

Along with a machine gun, they found classified photos of Berlin after the bombing of WWII, as well as telegrams from Her Majesty’s Secret Service and the War Office. The spy turned out to be Eileen Burgoyne who was 98 when she died. She operated as a shadow agent throughout Germany, Spain, Gibraltar, and Africa. After WWII, she was hired and was presumably integral to the Cold War effort.
