She eventually returned to other movies and episodes of the franchise. She was the first crush of Charlie, but she was instead interested in Captain Kirk!

Eight episodes later, the actress was released from the contract. She was bitter about it and revealed that an executive on the show sexually assaulted her. “They wanted William Shatner to have romances in each episode with a different person because for him to be stuck with one woman was not good for him and it wasn’t good for the audience. That’s what they told me, so I was written out,” she shared in “The Longest Trek.” Outside of acting, she helped people overcome addictions and sober up. In 2015, she passed away at 85 years old.
