Martha Hackett
This Star Trek mainstay comes from Boston. Martha Hackett kicked off her acting career in the late ‘80s. She has since appeared on Hill Street Blues. At first, she was supposed to play Jadzia Dax, although the role ultimately went to Terry Farrell. The producers liked her so much that she received the parts of T’Rul the Romulan and Seska.

Denise Crosby as Tasha Yar
In the first season of Star Trek: Next Generation, Denise Crosby played Lt. Tasha Yar. She was a laconic security officer with a short haircut and tight outfit. She was a hit among fans, but the character was killed off in the end. Many viewers were disappointed with this turn of events, however.
