Like He Was In A Trance
The entire episode only made Miller feel concerned about his dog. He petted Crosby, which finally made Crosby snap out of the trance that he was in. “What is it, boy?” he said, trying to look for answers in the huge eyes of his pet. At the very least, he was relieved to see that the dog seemed all right. At the time, Miller assumed that the dog simply spotted a bug and could not take his eyes off it.

Miller did not think much of it since Crosby returned to his regular self after that. However, he realized that this was not true when he went to the kitchen to fetch a glass of water at midnight. As he passed the living room, he saw that the dog was looking at the wall once more. Something was different about him this time, however. It looked like Crosby was even sadder than he had been earlier that day.
