4. Aunt Bee Was Hard To Please
Though most of the cast members got along well, Frances Bavier was a different story. Bavier was “difficult” behind the scenes, in contrast to her role Aunt Bee’s easygoing nature. She also despised vulgar language, which led her to attack her co-star George Lindsey with an umbrella once.
5. Frances Bavier Later Apologized For Her Behavior
While Bavier was difficult to deal with, she wasn’t blind to her own hard personality. Griffith, who typically bore the brunt of Bavier’s hostility, once told Larry King that she had phoned him prior to her death in 1989 to apologize for her behavior.
