Before marrying Celine, Rene Angelil had been married twice. His first marriage ended in 1972, but he had a son, Patrick Angelil. He had two more children from his second marriage, which was from 1974 to 1986.

In 1994, Rene married Celine and they had an extravagant wedding. The couple had difficulty conceiving, but they eventually welcomed three children: a son in 2001, and twin boys in 2010.

Celine recalled Rene became emotional during her audition. She said, “While I was singing, he (Rene) started to cry.” She added, “I knew then I had done a good job.”
