Did you know that the real name of Sade is Helen Folasade? Anyway, she is a British actress-singer who is one of the greatest female artists from the United Kingdom. As the lead singer of her self-named band, she has made her mark on contemporary music. In 1984, she released “Diamond Life,” her debut album. It was one of the greatest albums from that era. The year after that, she joined other singers at the Live Aid Charity Concert. In 2002, she was awarded the Order of the British Empire for her work.

You might be familiar with Minnie Riperton as the “Queen of the Whistle Register.” She received this nickname thanks to her five-octave coloratura soprano vocal range. She released a song called “Loving You” in April 1975. This marked her rise to stardom. The single was actually in “Perfect Angel,” her 1974 album that has since been certified gold. It was truly tragic that she passed away at the tender age of 31.
