Patty Duke began working as an actress very early on, and at just 16 years old, was awarded an Oscar for her portrayal of Helen Keller in the 1962 film, The Miracle Worker. Only one year later, The Patty Duke Show aired, and she went on working until 2015, and passed away in 2016. Her  granddaughter is Ali Astin, and she has followed in her grandmother’s footsteps and debuted as an actress when she was six years old in The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King with her father, Sean Astin, by her side.
