Coping Mechanisms
Peter leaves the cemetery and seeks out a therapist, hoping to find some guidance on how to move on from his son’s death. The therapist helps him understand that his obsession with the red rose is a manifestation of his grief and that he needs to focus on healing himself before he can find closure.
Honor
Over the next week, Peter attends therapy sessions, joins a support group for grieving parents, and seeks solace in his faith by speaking to a priest. Though he still struggles with his feelings of loss and sadness, he begins to understand that he needs to focus on the positive memories he has of Michael and find ways to honor his son’s life.
