Two years ago, the BVB goalkeeper caused a surprise when he announced his retirement from professional soccer after more than 350 Bundesliga games and moved to the Balearic island of Ibiza. roman Weidenfeller kept Borussia’s goal for 16 years before celebrating his greatest career highlight to date in 2014: winning the World Cup in Brazil. In the same year, he crowned his personal happiness with a dream wedding to his long-term partner Lisa. However, the birth of their son Leon was followed by the end of their relationship: Lisa remained in their shared property on Dortmund’s Phoenix Lake, while Weidenfeller moved to a luxury villa in Ibiza to find a new direction.
