Standing At Ease
The stance that soldiers take when they are “at ease” looks uncomfortable. However, if you stand that way for a few years, you’d eventually get used to it and it would feel comfortable. This is why we still see ex-military people doing this even after years of not being in service.

Sir And Ma’am
Soldiers are also trained to be respectful all the time. That’s why they address people as ‘sir’ and ‘ma’am’ whether they are the flower lady, the milkman or your parents.
