George Clooney – Baseball
George Clooney is one of Hollywood’s biggest names today, yet he had a humble beginning before becoming famous. He went to Augusta High School and told Esquire that he had good marks and liked baseball and basketball. He aspired to be a professional baseball player and attempted to sign with the Cincinnati Reds. Although it did not go through, it served as a message that he was meant for more important things. His breakthrough came in “ER” and “From Dusk till Dawn.” He is the director of the commercially and critically successful films “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind” and “Leatherheads,” in addition to acting.
Terry Crews – Football
Terry Crews originally prospered in the world of football before gracing television screens. He played defensive end and linebacker in the National Football League for the Los Angeles Rams, San Diego Chargers, and Washington Redskins. He began in 1991 and continued until 1997, when he embraced acting. It proved to be a wise decision, as he rocketed to fame with roles in “Everybody Hates Chris” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.” He also hosted “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” and “America’s Got Talent.” Crews told ReelTalks that football has a comparable structure and expectations to acting, which helped him transition early in his career.
