2 Chainz – Basketball
2 Chainz rose to prominence as the better half of the hip-hop group Playaz Circle. Their biggest hit track as a duo was “Duffle Bag Boy,” which featured Lil Wayne. When he went solo in 2012, he had success with the tracks “No Lie,” “Birthday Song,” and “I’m Different.” Others may be unaware that 2 Chainz excelled in basketball outside of the music industry. He played basketball at North Clayton High School and later attended Alabama State University on a scholarship. He was a member of the team from 1995 to 1997, appearing in 24 of 29 games.
Ed O’Neill – Football
Ed O’Neill began playing football while attending Ursuline High School and working. He was then offered a football scholarship at Ohio University, where he revealed to Inside the Actors Studio that he spent more time playing sports and socializing than studying. He went on to play defensive line at Youngstown State University. Following his stint at Youngstown, he was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he did not advance. At the time, he tried a variety of vocations before landing onscreen. His roles on “Married… with Children” and “Modern Family” earned him nominations for Golden Globes, Primetime Emmys, and Screen Actors Guild Awards.
