The Coast Guard’s response came after a tense pause. “We understand the urgency of your situation,” said the voice over the radio. “We are considering your request. Stand by.” The team exchanged anxious glances, hope reflected in their eyes. They knew that the coastguard needed to weigh up the risks of such an unusual rescue method. It was a long shot, but it was also the best, perhaps the only, chance of bringing Ethan back safely. With their hearts squeezed, they waited, mixing hope and despair as time seemed to drag on.

Finally, the Coast Guard’s voice echoed over the radio: “Permission granted. Proceed with your plan.” Relief swept through the team, followed by a wave of determination. “All right, let’s get the fish ready and make it count,” Clair instructed, his voice firm and full of renewed purpose. In a frenzy of action, they gathered all the available fish on board, aware that they were about to face one of the biggest challenges of their lives.
