Examining the air
The pressure of the tongue against him was unbearable, and Ethan quickly realized that his air supply was disappearing at an alarming rate. In the dark, he groped for the pressure gauge, his heart pounding as he saw how much oxygen he had left. “I’ve got to think, Ethan,” he muttered to himself. He couldn’t afford to panic, not yet. His mind was racing, trying to find a solution, but the rising tide of anxiety threatened to overwhelm him with every heavy breath he took.

Ethan stood up and swung his legs towards the fin plates, desperate for a way to force the whale to open its mouth and release him. With all his strength, he kicked repeatedly, hoping to irritate the animal enough for it to release him. “Come on! Move!” he shouted into the darkness, his voice echoing inside the whale’s mouth. Each kick reverberated through his body, but the huge animal didn’t move. Frustration was eating away at him as he struggled against the ever tighter confines, feeling that time was running out.
