Simón Bolívar
Simon Bolivar was an important political figure. This Venezuelan military leader led the revolution against Spain. Born into a wealthy family, he studied in Spain and joined the resistance. After Spain was invaded by France, they called him “El Libertador” or The Liberator in English. He died of tuberculosis.
What Simón Bolívar Really Looked Like
Whoa, looks sure are deceiving. This could pass for a photo of a living human being! The forensic imagery team took a year to go through the historical documents, with some help from the Venezuelan government. It all paid off because they managed to create this representation of El Libertador! It looks considerably more pleasant to the eye than the portraits they made of him.
