Intense preparation
As the trial date approaches, Laura, the lawyer and I immerse ourselves in intense preparation. We spend hours reviewing documents, testimony and any useful evidence we can gather. “We have to be unassailable,” Mr. Thompson insists firmly. Laura coordinates the witnesses, making sure everyone is lined up and ready. “We will prove that you are innocent,” she states with unwavering determination. The amount of work is enormous and often overwhelming, but the desire to clear my name gives us the strength to move forward without hesitation.

Neighborhood witnesses prove to be very cooperative and ready to provide statements. “I saw her that day, and she was nowhere near the crime scene,” one neighbor insists with conviction. Laura meticulously organizes all the information gathered, cataloging every detail. “That’s good, but we need more,” comments Mr. Thompson as he flips through the growing pile of documents. Each piece of evidence, each testimony brings us closer and closer to building a solid, credible defense.
