Laura continues her research and discovers that the arresting officer, Officer Drake, has had previous complaints of misconduct. Finding an old article online, she reads in detail various questionable incidents and arrests related to him. “This could be big,” she tells Mr. Thompson during a meeting, to which he responds in a serious tone, “We need to corroborate this information.” This revelation could be the weak point in the case against me.

Laura immediately set to work, beginning to contact all potential witnesses who might corroborate what was reported in the article. “We have to be thorough,” she says, as she carefully jots down a list of names to contact, aware that each step must be studied with precision.
