As the vets began running tests before taking action, Zac remained hovering around them, keeping a tight eye on what they were doing. He wanted to make sure Lola and her baby were safe; while he trusted Dr. Edwards, he had never seen or heard of the other two vets before. Moments later, Dr. Edwards approached him and said, “Zac, I need you to do something for me.”

“I need a glass of water,” he explained. Zac’s reaction must have betrayed how unusual he felt the request was given the timing, for Dr. Edwards swiftly added, “I’ve got a terrible headache, and I can’t help Lola if I’m feeling like this.” Zac nodded and turned to leave, but the vet had him promise something first. “Do not tell anyone about this. “Not one word!”
