To Have And Have Not – Humphrey Bogart

Before they became known as one of the biggest couples in Hollywood, Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall were friends. If you can use that word to describe people who kissed and held hands on the set. They were filming To Have and Have Not when people noticed the chemistry between the 19-year-old actress and the 44-year-old actor. Their costar Dan Seymour explained, “We knew things were happening. He had that sort of smile you can still see on the screen.” At the time, Bogart had been married to Mayo Methot. As you can imagine, she was not happy to hear the news. He got out of the marriage and managed to do so without getting stabbed by his wife again. After that, Bogey and Bacall finally tied the knot. They remained man and wife until he died in 1957.

The Outlaw Josey Wales – Clint Eastwood

Clint Eastwood was quite the ladies’ man back in the day. However, he is probably best known for the relationship that began while working on The Outlaw Josey Wales. At the time, he was still married to a woman called Maggie Johnson. This did not stop him from starting a rather obvious affair with Sondra Locke, his costar. The two of them eventually cohabitated together, but it was not quite as blissful as the others on the list as it ended in resentment. At any rate, we added it here because he and Johnson divorced because of it. Locke talked about this in detail in her memoir. It is called “The Good, the Bad, and the Very Ugly.”
