Neon Light
Clifton’s Cafeteria is one of the oldest establishments in Los Angeles and is situated in a historic building. When the owner decided to renovate the bathroom, he found the weirdest thing: a neon light. The weirdest part was that the light was still on. Experts are saying that the light had probably been on for 77 years straight, making it the longest lit neon light in the world.
$17,000 Electrical Bills
The owner reckons that the light was first lit in 1935 when the building was converted into a forest-themed diner. However, the owner quickly realized that he had probably paid around $17,000 in electrical bills because of the light. This case seriously baffled experts, since neon lights aren’t known to work for longer than 40 years straight.
