Racing to the surface
With the air almost gone, Ethan struggled against the currents, propelling himself towards the surface as fast as he could. His breaths were short and gasping, each with the feeling that it could be his last. “We’re almost there,” he muttered to himself, as the light above drew closer. His lungs burned, but he persisted, determined to break free. The water around him began to clear, and finally he saw the faint glow of sunlight, a sign that freedom was within reach.

Overcoming the barriers
Ethan surfaced, panting, his chest fighting for air as he clung tightly to his equipment, feeling a wave of relief at finally being free of the whale. “Yes! Yes!” he exclaimed, his words interrupted by rapid breaths. Fresh air filled his lungs, and the warmth of the sun caressed his face, giving him indescribable pleasure. With his mouthpiece ripped off, he swam aimlessly, immersed in a feeling of freedom he would never forget, even though he knew he still had to reach the safety of the boat.
