King Henry IV
King Henry IV, also known as “Henry the Great” or “Good King Henry,” started his reign in a pretty strange way. He was 19 years old when he assumed the title the King of Navarre. The months after this, he married. Protestants drove to the city to celebrate the union, but they were then met with the St. Bartholomew’s Day Massacre. King Henry IV barely survived it and had to serve in the French Court.
What King Henry IV Really Looked Like
Henry the Great reportedly survived no less than 12 assassination attempts! Researchers picked him for the project because he did not discriminate based on religion. The team who worked on this also worked on Robespierre: Philippe Froesch and Philippe Charlier. Unfortunately, Henry IV died during the 13th attempt on his life. He got stabbed with a dagger by a Catholic man.
