Nefertiti
Rumored to be a Thutmose creation, they found a stucco and limestone bust of Nefertiti in 1912. The sculpture suggested that the Egyptian queen was beautiful and boasted of defined facial attributes. However, 3D imaging revealed what she probably looked like when she was alive.
What Nefertiti Really Looked Like
In 2018, Expedition Unknown turned to 3D imaging technology to map out the face of the mummy called “The Younger Lady”. Many believed it to be Nefertiti, although this had yet to be confirmed. They scanned the mummy and paleoartist Elisabeth Daynes spent 500 hours recreating the face on the bust, which had been based on historical images of Nefertiti. While the project seemingly confirms that “the Younger Lady” was truly Nefertiti, people debated about her skin color in the image!
