Thanks to the horseshoe-shaped stone arrangement, scientists uncovered a site called Achavanich. In 1987, researchers managed to reconstruct the face of the woman they called “Ava”. Believed to be 18 to 22 years old, they found her remains on the site. Her remains date back to more than 3,700 years ago.

Archaeologists Hew Morrison and Maya Hoole work on the ‘Achavanich Beaker Burial Project’. They managed to learn many things about the Bronze Age with the facial reconstruction of Ava. Her DNA allowed them to have an idea of how women back then looked like! How cool is that?
