The manner in which Joyce was talking made the sisters pause and contemplate. Could it be the fact that she was giving up her home that devastated her or was it because of the truths behind her secret? Logically, it is normal to have a mix of different feelings when leaving a place you’ve called home for the longest time. However, if the real situation is neither of these, it would probably be too heavy a load for these girls to carry.

Carla and Gladys discovered that the house had been in its original state for seven decades. With all the years they had spent in the real estate business, they immediately jumped to the likelihood that the house suffers from neglect if this was the case. A house which has not been properly tended for seventy years is probably unlivable. However, they were not aware that they were wrong at that thought. As it can be seen, they did not know that the house that looked like any other had a surprise waiting for them.
