Color Obsession
At the time, all people had the inclination to bright hues. A large number of people styled their houses with shades of neon green, yellow and red. Houses regardless of size were decorated in this manner, as those colors virtually equated to a brighter future following the war. However, some families did prefer softer pastel tones. How wonderful could everything have looked with all those mix of very bright and soft colors!
Unspoiled
Joyce had much imspiration at the time she transferred to Bloor West Village and turned the simple house into something grand. In fact, the home now serves like a gateway to the ‘50s as she successfully preserved the same pieces of furniture, decorations, colors and appliances that date back from that time. There was more about Joyce, though. She managed to make her house appear as if it days and years did not pass by. This is the secret why her things looked like they have just been bought or installed in her house. Joyce was specifically attentive on the maintenance of her place.
